Royal Wedding! Kyabazinga William getrouwd met Jovia Mutesi

Er is een nieuwe African Queen en ze heet Inhebantu Jovia.

Groot feest in Oeganda, waar de Kyabazinga van het vorstendom Busoga, William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV, in Bugembe trouwde met Jovia Mutesi, die daarmee koningin-gemalin is geworden. In Busoga is de titel Inhebantu. Het stel was in september ook al eens getrouwd, toen in een traditionele ceremonie.

… en zelfs de verslaggevers waren prachtig gekleed. De laatste royal wedding in Busoga was in 1999 dus men had wel zin in wat royal pracht en praal.

De bruidegom droeg bij het vertrek van Paleis Bugabula naar de kathedraal nog een traditioneel gewaad en een blazer, maar verruilde die laatste om voor een fraaie fluwelen mantel en dito geborduurd hoofddeksel.

En William zat er fraai bij.

Er moest politiebegeleiding aan te pas komen om de bruid op tijd bij de kathedraal te krijgen.

De bruid werd weggegeven door haar vader Stanley Bayole.

Jovia beschikte over twee trouwjurken: eentje met kanten mouwen die ze voor het jawoord droeg en een capejurk met pareltjes die ze onder andere op de officiële foto's draagt.

En zo te zien droegen de bruidsmeisjes jurken die sprekend leken op die van de bruid.

Het jawoord nam het stel buitengewoon serieus, de gasten waren wat uitbundiger.

Over de vorst is niet zo gek veel bekend, maar hij is populair, serieus en zet zich in om de levenskwaliteit van zijn volk te verbeteren.
